Tim’s hands are bound behind his back, but his grin is cocky as he stares up at Two-Face.

Tim: I’m not afraid of you.

Two-Face: You’re dumber than your old man. Now talk. Where is he?

Tim: How about I go check his calendar.

Batgirl and Robin are on a rooftop, gazing down Melanie while her father is arrested. Robin is kneeling, one arm draped over her knee, head turned up with a wistful expression.

Robin: I remember the first time my father was arrested. I didn’t know how to hate most - Dad or the cops - or the whole damn world for letting it happen.

She turns to Batgirl, frowning sadly.

Robin: When’s it going to stop, Cass? What’s it going to take to get people like the Penguin out of our lives?

A close up on Melanie, eyes closed and head bowed. She’s clutching her mother’s hand and a stuffed penguin.

Robin: Out of her life?

Robin leaps from the roof, her expression sad but determined.

Perhaps Stephanie’s strongest motivation for remaining a vigilante.

Robin leans over the Penguin.

Robin: It’s too late, Penguin. The police have rounded up all your precious guns - and taken four young children into custody. It’s over, punk. This time you’re going down for good.

Penguin: Oh, pleeease. Spare me the amateur dramatics. Sure - a few of my loyal goons will be locked up in jail! That’s what I pay them for. But not me, sweetcakes. I’ve got the best lawyers in Gotham. Ain’t nothing’s gonna stick on me.

Robin throws him into a table before advancing on him again.

Robin: One day we’ll finish you once and for all, Penguin - you and all the other loathsome criminal parasites! We’ll wipe you out like the vermin you really are. And then this will be a good, safe, clean city - a place where children can grow up free from your corruption and filth!

Robin raises her fist, but Batgirl clasps her wrist.

Batgirl: Enough.

Robin stands down.

No, really, you don’t.

Robin grabs the Penguin by the collar, yelling in his face.

Robin: You disgusting, stinking, lousy dirtbag! Using kids to do your dirty work!

Penguin: I really can’t imagine what you’re -

Robin punches him across the room.

When Steph is around, you don’t fuck with kids. It’s a distinction she shares with Jason and Helena (who’s like an Even Robin except she was Batman).

Roy’s little girl, Melanie, runs terrified through the streets until she hits a dead end. When Batgirl approaches she reaches into her bag.

Melanie: Leave me alone! I - I’m not scared of you!

Melanie levels the gun at Batgirl, who stops in her tracks.

Then Robin appears, gently taking the gun.

Robin: It’s okay, Melanie.

Robin kneels besides her, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Robin: It’s all okay…

Batgirl pins one of the Penguin’s men against the wall of a dank alley.

Robin: Where are they, Roy?

Roy: Ow! What are you, the morning shift? Can’t a guy walk his daughter to school, for cryin’ out loud?!

Robin: Yeah, yeah - if you were really a caring father, you wouldn’t work for a sleazy crook like Penguin, would you? Just tell us who’s got the guns or -

Roy: I - I don’t know what you’re talking about!

Batgirl: He’s lying.

Robin: Of course he’s lying, the lousy, no-good -

Batgirl: No. He’s scared. For something…or someone…

Roy: Please - don’t -

Batgirl: THE GIRL!

Batgirl drops him as Robin puts a hand to her mouth.

Robin: Oh, my god…

Roy: He…he made me do it…not just me - all the guys with kids …they’re the perfect couriers, he said…no one would suspect…

Two men advance on a fallen Batgirl, the first with a large gun.

Man 2: Wow - these weapons are incredible!

Man 1: What did I tell ya? Wait ‘til we tell the boss we bagged a Bat!

Oracle [over the comm]: Cass?

Suddenly, a green and red figure appears to kick the gun out of Man 2’s hand and smash them both in the face. Then they kneel down, resting a hand on Batgirl’s shoulder.

Robin: You okay, Batgirl?

Batgirl looks up, dazed.

Batgirl: Uh…Robin?

We finally see Stephanie, beaming, with her hands spread at her sides.

Robin: You betcha, sister!

A small explosion blasts away the Riddler’s men. In the next panel, Robin is riding on a man’s shoulders.

Robin: Betcha you’re seeing spots in front of your eyes now, huh? Let me help with that.

He knocks him out with a smirk and a KLONK!
